Sassy Little Apron

I had some time this weekend to cut and sew a new Sassy Little Apron, pattern by Barbara Brandeburg. This apron goes together so quickly and is a good every day apron.

Last year, or maybe the year before, I purchased a couple of one yard pieces of novelty apron fabrics from my LQS  and they have been ageing in my stash just waiting to be made up in the right pattern.

With the addition of the contrasting ruffle fabric it was just enough for this sassy little apron.  I added a simple pocket on the skirt and eliminated the pocket on the bodice, who needs a pocket at the top of their apron?

This makes a nice gift for you girl friends and it's not to early to think about Christmas, it's only four months away.

Keep calm and put your apron on,

  2. This is such a cute and usable apron. I got a closeup so I could see the fabric. I agree there's no use at all for a pocket at the top.

Actually, I do calm down when I put my apron on to cook. After being limited in activities the past couple of months, I've found that cooking is what I really miss being able to do. I was happy yesterday to put my apron on and cook Sunday dinner for the family.

  3. I got a close-up so I could see the cute fabric and I agree that a pocket at the top is unnecessary, but definitely one on the side.

I always calm down when I put on an apron and start to cook. I've had some restrictions on activities the past couple of months and now realize that cooking is what I miss most. I was able to cook dinner for the family yesterday and enjoyed it so much.

(I hope this isn't a repeat - I entered a comment this morning and it seems to have disappeared.)

  6. So sweet Betty Lou! I have fabric I bought in The Alsace, France to make an apron and never did it. Good luck with the new blog.

  9. I love your apron not the pocket, it would end up in the stew pot. Could you send me a link to her pattern? With pockets on the side this would be a good one to tie on! Be patience with me as I work my way back! Some how I think I missed the announcement of your new blog!
